Jane discovered her passion for riding growing up in Lexington, Virginia. While the area is now home to the renowned Virginia Horse Center, Jane began her equestrian journey at a time when riding opportunities were limited. Her love for horses carried her through childhood and into college, where she competed on an intercollegiate riding team and later participated in combined training and dressage competitions.
Life eventually steered her away from riding as she focused on raising her two sons, with only the occasional destination trail ride keeping her connected to her passion. Much later in life, a bucket list trip to Montana rekindled her love for horses. Riding through the breathtaking Rockies reminded Jane that her bond with horses had never faded. Upon returning home, she embraced western riding, dedicating herself to trail riding and western pleasure.
After dedicating 28 years to teaching elementary school, Jane experienced a unique turn of events that led her to discover her true calling—teaching children and others to ride. Combining her natural teaching talent with her lifelong passion for horses has brought her immense joy and fulfillment.
When she's not at the barn, Jane can be found caring for her three dogs and three cats, or staying active by running and biking. She recently adopted her new trail partner, Wild Tequila Sunrise, a rescue from Wild Horse Ranch Sanctuary, and she looks forward to hitting the trails with him.
